Where is Personal Cybersecurity Headed? Fireside Chat with BlackCloak CEO Dr. Chris Pierson
22 March 2021
- Dr. Chris Pierson, CEO and Founder of BlackCloak, highlighted that cybercrime is the fastest growing type of crime. Cybercrime is projected to cause $6 trillion of damage by the end of 2021.
- As a concierge platform, BlackCloak protects ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals’ personal digital assets. Cybercriminals have been targeting corporate executives in their personal lives as a means to steal corporate IP and financial data, breach the company, and extort executives. Cybercriminals have also been targeting high-profile/high-net-worth persons for financial and other reputational hacks.
- Cybercriminals are after looking to breach privacy, devices, homes, and peace of mind in a holistic manner. The dark web contains a lot of information that could cause a breach of a person’s digital life. Many homes are wide open from a digital perspective. Dr. Pierson has found that 4 in 10 of his clients are already breached when he meets them.
- Tim Gerdeman, Vice Chair and Co-Founder of Water Tower Research co-moderated the session.
